Introduction

LinearPi Pro is a new generation top-quality high current ultra-low noise audiophile grade linear power supply. It can deliver up to 5A continuous output current at extremely low-noise level which is much suitable for Raspberry Pi 5 and other high current noise sensitive applications. It could be the best linear power supply solutions for both digital and analog audio applications.

Multiple LinearPi Pros can be grouped into a big power supply system. LinearPi Pro can also be upgraded to an 5V/3.3V ultra capacitor power supply by integrating with UcConditioner/Pro for even lower noise performance.

LinearPi Pro New Features

5A high continuous output current.
• 2.5 mOhm ultra-low output impedance.
• New parallel power output stages architecture.
• 4 layers double copper thickness PCB for higher current density and additional shield layers.
• 29080 uF total filtering capacitance.
• Enhanced Kelvin sense input to lower the output impedance and improve performance.
• Actual noise level superior to LinearPi MkII because of the shield layer and the new parallel architecture.
• New low drop high speed high current soft recovery Schottky rectifiers.
• Bigger size heatsink

Other Specifications and Highlighted Features

• 0.8uV Ultra-low noise level.
• Built-in ON/OFF control logic with on-board or possible external ON/OFF control switch.
• Multiple LinearPi Pros can be grouped into a big power supply system by making use of the built-in isolated master/slave on-off control signal chain.
• Seamlessly integrates with UcConditioner/Pro to be upgraded to an ultracapacitor power supply.
• Optimized for continuous AC input mode to get best possible sound quality.
• Deal with MLCC piezoelectric effect noise.
• 5V, 3.3V and 12V configurations.
• Two stages ultra-low noise soft start up feature great for both digital and analog application.
• Fully SMT high-quality heavy-duty design.

Great Load Transient Response Measurement Result

Real measurement shows that the LinearPi Pro has a super great load transient response performance. The output voltage drop measured is only super low 10mV level when output current changes over very big steps between 1A to 5A. Which means the actual dynamic output impedance is only 2.5mOhm (@1kHz). So the LinearPi Pro could be the best performance among all the low-noise linear power supplies in the market.

Load current steps: 1A to 5A,  Output voltage: 5V
Frequency: 1kHz, Duty cycle: 50%, Probe: 1:1, 10mV/DIV

Upgrade with a UcConditioner Pro to make an even more improvement to the low-noise performance

It’s highly recommended to enable the enhanced Kelvin sensing function when working with a UcConditioner Pro

Versatile and Indispensible

First use was using my Topping P50's 15v DC output to power IanCanada's PSU at 5V (defualt). This powered my Khadas Tonepro 2 DAC (balanced out) and instantly made things sound punchier. Unit didn't go over 80C and functioned without issue.
Second use and current setup is IanC's at 12v (i just desoldered the little resistor on jumper 1) again using the 15v out from my P50. Using it to power my Matrix XSpdif3 DDC >(I2s) SMSL D1SE2 DAC >(XLR)Nilai 500. No issues whatsoever and unit is stable.
I have transformers and will build the PSU but for now the unit can be used in a variety of situations. I like that I can change the input and outputs easily (male/female 2.5, USB etc) with the screw terminals. Makes it easy to play around with things like an external LC filter (AtomicBob's Noise Nuke) both before and after Ian's PSU.
This thing is versatile, indispensable and completely worth having. Thanks IanCanada. I'm really happy with your PSU!

Nice budget LPS

A very affordable and easy way to make a quality LPS for a streamer or DAC. Very quiet and good-sounding. I just added a $30 Antek toroid transformer and will shortly build an inexpensive box. If you have minimal DIY skills this is a very good deal. This is my second Ian Canada project and I'm very pleased with everything I've purchased.
