The #99B can be configured as either a DDC streamer (with CM5 IO installed) or a pure DDC (without CM5&IO).

To complete a Streamer or DDC project
You will also need to install a output board such as a #20C TransportPi AES II or #17B HDMI Pi Pro II (or both) into either the #99A or #99B KIT, depending on your desired output type.

To complete a DAC project
You need to install a #4B ES9038Q2M Dual Mono DAC and a #7B Transformer I/V (or another I/V stage) into either the #99A or #99B KIT. If desired, both DAC and transport can be installed in the same project.

Future Upgrade

1.#42B LifePO4 Mini Pro 3.3V Power Supply

#42B is an great 3.3V low-noise, high-dynamic power supply. Upgrading to it can significantly improve the quality of the clean-side 3.3V power supply. The #42B can be installed on either the left or right side. 30mm M2.5 standoffs could be required for the installation. A control cable can be connected from J8 on the StationPi CM5 to J5 on the #42B to enable the ON/OFF control chain. All 3.3V inputs must be connected to the output terminals J7 and J8 using separate wires. Additionally, the #42B requires its own dedicated USB-C power supply as input.

2. SC-Pure SC-Cut Extremely-low Phase Noise Clocks

Upgrading the FifoPi Q7 with the #80A and #80B clocks can elevate the sound quality of the re-clock DDC streamer to the next highest level. The upgrade process is very easy—they are simply drop-in replacements for the default clocks in the XO1 and XO2 sockets on the FifoPi. Please be very careful not to reverse the orientation.

Note

  1. The CM5 and CM5 IO are not included in the kit. Amanero Combo768 is also sold separately and not included in the KIT.
  2. Unless you are building a CM5 free project, please first ensure that your CM5/CM5 IO and its software are running properly by following the guide before you begin installing the rest of the hardware.
  3. If use USB-C as power input, please use the J15 on the StationPi CM5 rather than the J11 on the CM5 IO. High quality USB-C power adapter such as Anker or UGREEN 65W are recommended. Rasprberry Pi official 27/45W 5V 5A USB-C adapter is also works great for this KIT.
  4. To save on the cost,  you can just order the items separately by following and reference to the configurations.
